Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need experience in the activities?
No not at all. We can tailor all sessions to your needs and select venues suitable to your level of experience.
Who are the guides?
Our guides are all fully qualified with the relevant national governing body’s awards and hold up to date first aid certificates. They have years of experience coaching and guiding in each of the activities. From the moment you meet your guides they will do everything they can to ensure you have an unforgettable, fun adventure day.
Is there any age limits?
Children must be aged 8 or over to take part in any of the activities. There is no upper age limit so long as you feel suitably fit to take part.
Do I need to be fit?
We do require you to have a certain level of fitness but you don’t need to be marathon runners to take part! All sessions can be tailored to your needs. Everyone will need to fill in a medical declaration form before taking part.
I’m not a great swimmer, can I still do the water activities?
Yes, we use Buoyancy Aids for Coasteering and Kayaking which will keep you afloat. If you can manage a length in the pool this is an adequate ability for any of the water sports.
Can I go by myself?
Yes, we don’t have a minimum booking number, although group discounts do apply for larger numbers.
Do I need personal Insurance?
Dragon Activity Guides hold full public liability insurance which covers you for the adventure activities. If you require any extra travel insurance this should be taken out separately.
Can I wear my own kit?
If you have your own wetsuit and would like to wear it, bring it with you and your guide can check if it is suitable. Dragon Activity Guides has a range of high quality kit which has been selected to make your experience as comfortable as possible. Our wetsuits are full winter suits with 5mm neoprene. We also have wetsuit socks and gloves so you will be nice and warm even in the colder months.
Where do the sessions take place?
We use a number of different venues throughout Pembrokeshire for each activity. We aim to run the sessions as close to your accomodation as possible, unless there is an area you would love to see, then we will aim to go there. The venue may change is the weather conditions are not suitable on the day. Our main aim is to select the best venue for you which incorporates safety, fun, and convenience for your travel time.
When are you open?
We run activities all year around. The summer months are obviously busier so make sure you book nice and early. Our office is open 9am to 9pm, 7 days a week. Keep your eyes peeled for special offers that are changed frequently.
What happens if it’s bad weather?
Unfortunately the weather is something that is completely out of our control. If the weather is poor our guides will use their extensive local knowledge to select a venue that is appropriate for your needs. Climbing is the only one that could be cancelled due to rain. Also in the rare occasion that there is no enough waves, surfing sessions will be cancelled. If a session is cancelled due to weather you will be given the option to do one of the other activities at a discounted rate.
